Work Journal July 2022

I am getting excellent results in my work and life in general but also spending a lot on tools. On my way to start working in becoming a freelancer and working remotely, there are a lot of things to try and plan the best exit possible.

The next level is building a second brain

In July I read a lot of things on different topics thanks to the easy blinks of my new app. But somehow it is getting hard to retrieve that information every day.

Recently implemented a second brain with a notion template called obsidian life OS. It is complete, although a little focused on work instead of life.

Having a lot of information running out of my head could be overwhelming and I need to focus more.

Working on the processes for the second brain to work correctly

This would involve setting aside time for populating with data.

Sounds really tedious, but I will find a way.

A third brain could be great, building robots and automation.

I have found that through university, work, life and everything in between a personal assistant will be great.

On automation, I have seen automate.io, Zapier, and IFTT. Those look great, Zapier has more integrations but right now my workload is not so big.

Building automated workflows could give more free time and be rewarding in the long run.

Another thing is to start having some contacts early, with easy-to-find places to contact and building some workflows to get that life easier.

Supermarket, car maintenance, mail, remembering my friends to do work. All these things could benefit from automation and help me have more peace of mind, which is the ultimate goal.

Finding my way to gaining money from the internet

Right now working is great, I think it is a good time to start thinking about leveling up my skills to be more present on the internet.

Looking for opportunities to start working from home and making business, investments on the internet. It is a good time to make a plan to do so.

Investing in hobbies is worth it.

Working on my guitar economy of motion, dance skills, swimming, and calisthenics is more of a promise than a dream.

I am making plans also to be more with people. And the truth is that not all the books, videos, or information in the world could help enough to do that.

You have to figure out a lot of things by yourself, and this is why I think it is important to find it by experimenting.

Of course, this could make wonders of the opposite, but I know it will be worth it in the long run.

Thinking of toolbox instead swiss knifes

All my life I was looking for an app that could do everything, so I don't need to learn more interfaces that could not help me in my learning.

But recently, a swiss knife is not what I want. I want a toolbox, where each tool makes the best outcome of themselves on a specific task.

Notion is a great swiss knife, but it performs poorly for certain tasks like tracking gym workouts, tracking expenses. There's no such difference between that and a simple excel spreadsheet.

It would be great to start looking for integrating tools, that's why it is on my goals to improve the connection between my toolbox.

Studying is worth it

Studying is worth it in the short run, middle run and long run.

It helps not only on saving money but in saving time, it could anticipate and look for the best decision.

Honing your skills is always worth it, don't ever forget that.

Doing more than consuming

It would be great to make more than you consume because it teaches you to do things.
